Last night I was having dinner with a friend and we were talking about the importance of subway karma, which is basically where you have to figure out which lines are good for you and which lines are not, and act accordingly. For example, I will never have a good relationship with the uptown B and D trains, who will always leave me waiting and frustrated (oddly, I get along fine with the downtown B and D), but I am basically bffs with the uptown C train, who is always waiting for me at 42nd Street. My friend confessed that the downtown F is her enemy, but she has an ongoing love affair with the downtown E. These are issues of great importance to any New Yorker, obviously. Also, the photograph above is a shot of one of the subway-station panels where the advertisement has been blissfully ripped off to expose something 10,000,000,000,000 (ten trillion) times more interesting than say, an ad for the barfy new season of ______. Here are some more pix if you’re interested.
