Do you guys remember when Melissa and Meaghan O put together an anthology of sex writing? It feels like 100,000 years ago now, and as I look back, I’m proud to have been a part of it, because 1) even two years later, OMG can you believe we’re STILL pretty challenged as a culture when it comes to honestly talking (or making the attempt to talk, which is sometimes better than nothing) about all types of sex in a single forum — as opposed to just retreating into our respective porn tumblrs (nothing wrong with hot gay bears, obv, but still)  — and basically looking for the universal as opposed the niche and the divisive, and 2) creating something is always better than tearing it down, or almost always, like depending on the context — I’m not going to say that Rick Santorum doesn’t deserve criticism, for example — but here, where there was an earnest desire to open up some very narrow, non-existent channels of expression/communication, is a project worthy of our admiration.
